Wing is the founder of My Santosh. In her early twenties, she undergoes a struggle of never ending questions and dilemma.
What is the purpose of life? What can life offer to her? Is there a correct way to live? What is happiness?
She feels that there is going to be more to life than the rat race, working and consuming. Not that eight-to-five is a bad thing but at that point of time, she finds herself a misfit.
So she starts looking for her answers. Her journey brings her to New Zealand, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan and some other countries. She faces rejection and judgment with her choice of lifestyle. But she never gives up until she find the answers to her questions. A few years searching, a few heartbreaks and a bucket of tears, she found herself looking at things in new perspective. Her travels give her time to look deep inside of her. Today, she is living with more clarity and closer to her core values.
The questions to life is not “what can life offer to her?” but “what is the world asking of her?”
Her answer is wellness and health.
Firstly, she is fascinated by the relationship between food and health. So she immersed herself in an environment of organic food and plant-based diet. At the same time, she wonders about the impact of the human mind on the body. So she set off to study yoga and the effects of the mind-body connection. During this period of time, somehow, the tomboyish her stumble upon belly dance. This practice opens possibilities and allows her to connect to her feminine side.
Her journey expands into the field of fitness and weight management. She becomes fascinated with the human body, from the muscular functions to bones to hormones to motor skills. She discovers how wonderful our bodies are. Evolution over millions of years have created our body to be strong and adaptable.
Yet this discovery also leads her to the finding that the modern way of living is causing our bodies to work against us. We are seeing a trend of increasing chronic diseases that are caused by diet, inactivity and environment. We can’t go back to the caveman style of living but we can definitely find ways to integrate health and wellness into modern day lifestyle.
This is her mission.
To spread the awareness on how we can enable our body system to work for us rather than against us.
Ultimately, in her terms: to facilitate positive changes through wellness and fitness.
